Double Good Design - Tai ChiBringing Authentic Thai Style to China
Double Good Design - Tai Chi is a commercial place that aims to bring the most authentic Thai style to China. Designed by Lin Yan and Zhang Dan Yi, this space combines modern aesthetics with traditional Thai elements to create a natural and relaxing environment. Inspired by the foothills of Phuket, the market in Bangkok, the architecture of the Taj Mahal, and the costumes of Thai people, the designers have created a unique and immersive experience.
The design of Double Good Design - Tai Chi focuses on user experience and privacy. The structure of the building has been modified to allow sunlight and air to penetrate into each space. The materials used are all imported from Thailand, including Thai gold-plated accents and rattan fabrics. Tropical plants are strategically placed throughout the space, creating a vibrant oasis. The use of brilliant colors and ancient totems further showcases Thai culture and enthusiasm.
Double Good Design - Tai Chi is not only visually appealing but also environmentally friendly. The designers have utilized BIM technology for information design and ensured that the materials used are healthy and sustainable. Natural materials such as bamboo weave, diatom mud, and ceramic tiles are widely incorporated. The entire project, from design to construction, lasted 180 working days, with constant monitoring and cooperation to achieve high-quality results.
Located in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, Double Good Design - Tai Chi has become a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Many visitors have fond memories of Thailand and find comfort in the service and environment provided by this space. The design successfully captures the essence of Thai culture, allowing people to experience the sun, wind, and changes of the four seasons while indoors.
The project began in November 2018 with a site survey and inspiration-seeking trip to Thailand. Construction started in January 2019 and was completed in August 2019. Since September 2019, the media has been reporting on this unique design that sets the industry benchmark.
Double Good Design - Tai Chi was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2020 for its outstanding and creatively ingenious design. This award recognizes designs that incorporate best practices in art, science, design, and technology, contributing to quality of life improvements.
